Fluval 307/407 Ribbed Hosing

A comprehensive guide for:

1. Preparation: Attach the factory-finished end of the hose to the AquaStop valve.
2. Sizing: Route the hose to the aquarium rim. Using a utility knife, cut the hose approximately 10cm (4 inches) beyond the rim to ensure enough slack for maintenance.
3. Connection: Push the cut end into the rubber connector of the intake or output assembly by at least 2.5cm (1 inch). Do not twist the hose during insertion.
4. Security: Secure the hose using the Rim Connectors Assemblies. Ensure the hosing follows a straight path with no loops or excessive slack, as this reduces pump performance.

• Bi-Annual Cleaning: Perform a “power flush” or use a dedicated hose cleaning brush every six months to remove protein slime and organic waste.
• Annual Replacement: It is recommended to replace the hosing and Motor Head Gaskets annually to prevent leaks and maintain optimal pressure.
• Lubrication: When reconnecting hoses to the AquaStop valve, use only Fluval Silicone Lubricant. Avoid petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or vegetable oils, as these degrade the rubber seals.
