Hygger Digital Heater

Product Overview:

Hygger Digital Heaters are submersible, high-precision heating units designed for both freshwater and saltwater tanks. Featuring advanced Sine Wave or Variable Frequency technology, these heaters maintain stable water temperatures with an external controller, ensuring you never have to submerge your hands to make adjustments.
Key Features
    • Dual LED Display: Real-time monitoring of both the current water temperature and your desired set temperature.
    • Explosion-Proof Construction: Built with heavy-duty quartz glass or titanium and encased in a protective ABS guard to prevent fish from getting burnt.
    • Dry-Run Protection: Automatically cuts power if the water level drops below the sensor, displaying an error code (typically “Er” or “E1”).
    • Memory Function: Retains your temperature settings following a power cut.

Technical Specifications

Feature Specification
Temperature Range 15°C to 34°C (59°F to 93°F)
Accuracy ±0.5°C to ±1°C
Voltage 220–240V AC (UK Standard)
Safety Certification CE and UKCA compliant (certified for UK/EU safety standards)

Setup and Operation
    1. Placement: Secure the heating rod to the glass using the provided suction cups. It must be placed in an area with high water flow (near a filter outlet or wave maker) to ensure even heat distribution.
    2. Submersion: Critical: The heater must be fully submerged before being switched on. Never bury the unit in sand or gravel.
    3. Setting the Temperature:
        • Plug the unit into the mains.
        • Press the ‘SET’ button on the external controller until the digits flash.
        • Cycle through to your preferred temperature. The display will blink three times to confirm and save the setting.

    4. Indicators: A red light typically indicates active heating, while a blue or green light shows the aquarium has reached the target temperature and the unit is in standby.

Safety and Maintenance
  • Drip Loop: Always form a “drip loop” in the power cable to prevent water from running down the wire into the electrical socket.
  • Water Changes: Always unplug the heater and wait at least 15 minutes before removing it from the water or performing a water change to allow the element to cool.
  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the heater guard with a soft cloth to remove algae or calcium deposits, which can interfere with the thermal sensors.
