Seachem The Bag is a specialised filter bag made from polyethylene with a welded, non-stitched seam. This construction provides exceptional durability and resistance to harsh chemicals, making it a long-lasting and reliable option for your aquarium’s filtration. It is particularly useful for containing fine-grained media like Seachem’s popular Purigen®.

• Welded Seams: Unlike conventional stitched bags, The Bag’s seams are fused together, eliminating the risk of unravelling or breaking. This is particularly important when regenerating chemical media with harsh chemicals like bleach or acids.
• Durable Material: Made of robust polyethylene, the bag is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals and environmental exposures.
• 180-Micron Mesh: The superfine mesh size (180 microns) is small enough to securely hold even the finest media particles, preventing them from escaping into the aquarium.

How to Use

Using The Bag is straightforward, regardless of the type of media you’re using.

1. Fill the Bag: Open the resealable closure and fill the bag with your chosen filter media (e.g., Purigen®, activated carbon, or other resins). Be careful not to overfill it; the media should sit somewhat loosely inside the bag to allow for optimal water flow.
2. Seal the Bag: Secure the bag by firmly pressing the resealable closure until it clicks shut.
3. Place in Filter: Place The Bag in an area of your filter where water flow is maximised. This could be in a canister filter, a sump, or a hang-on-back filter, depending on your setup. Placing it after your mechanical and biological filtration stages is generally recommended for chemical media.
