Physical Characteristics

The Clown Barb is a medium-sized fish, usually reaching an adult size of approximately 8-10 cm (3-4 inches) in total length. Its most distinctive feature is its vibrant colouration and prominent dark markings.

Fin-nipping is rare but can occur with very long-finned or slow-moving tank mates if kept in insufficient numbers.

Reproduction
